About Congregation Tikvah Chadashah

Congregation Tikvah Chadashah, Puget Sound's LGBT+ chavurah, was founded in 1980. It is one of the oldest gay and lesbian congregations in North America. CTC exists to provide Jewish worship and fellowship in a progressive, non-sexist environment that affirms and celebrates diversity.

CTC holds egalitarian services one Friday evening a month. CTC also holds High Holiday services, a Passover Seder, and other holiday celebrations. Chavurah members actively participate in an annual community-wide Gay Pride Shabbat, organize educational programs of interest to members, and host a members-only book club.

CTC is a member of the World Congress of LGBTQIA+ Jews (Keshet Ga'avah). All are welcome at our events, regardless of observance, religious background, ethnicity, or sexual orientation.
